Plus500 Forex Broker Review

Simplicity is the product

Plus500 has built its business on a single proposition: a clean, easy-to-use CFD platform with no commissions, no complications, and no MT4. The WebTrader is genuinely well-designed - the order ticket, watchlists, and risk controls are intuitive enough that a complete beginner can open a trade within minutes of signing up. That simplicity is intentional. Plus500 is not targeting professional traders; it is targeting the large market of casual investors who want CFD exposure without a steep learning curve.

LSE-listed credibility

Plus500 is listed on the London Stock Exchange (PLUS: LON) and regulated by the FCA (509909), ASIC (417727), MAS, and CySEC. The LSE listing provides annual reporting, audited accounts, and shareholder accountability that privately-held brokers do not. UK clients get FSCS protection.

What's not here

No MT4. No MT5. No cTrader. No TradingView. No copy trading. No in-depth research tools. No phone support. For traders who are accustomed to any of these, Plus500 will feel restrictive. The absence of MetaTrader in particular means no automated strategies, no custom indicators beyond what Plus500's own platform supports, and no migration path for traders who have built MT4 templates.

Trading costs

Spread-only pricing: EUR/USD around 0.6 pips during liquid hours. No commission, which simplifies cost calculation. There is an inactivity fee of USD 10 per month after 3 months without trading activity - one of the shortest inactivity windows in the industry.

Who it suits

Casual traders and investors who want CFD access to forex, indices, and commodities without a complex interface or platform commitment. Not suitable for algorithmic traders, professionals, or anyone who needs research depth or multi-platform flexibility.

Bottom line

Plus500 does exactly what it sets out to do: low-friction CFD access under credible regulation. If you want more than that, you need a different broker.
