About BrokerDir

A multi-asset broker research platform

BrokerDir is a multi-asset broker research and comparison platform covering forex, crypto, and stocks brokers. Every broker in the directory is profiled using the same set of data points (regulatory status, trading costs, platform availability, and instrument range) so that traders can compare brokers on consistent, verifiable criteria rather than marketing claims.

Beyond broker profiles, BrokerDir covers the full research landscape: markets data across forex pairs, commodities, indices, and crypto; regulator profiles for licensing authorities worldwide; trading platform coverage; country-specific broker listings; bonus and promotion tracking; a glossary of trading terms; educational guides; and tools including a broker finder quiz and side-by-side comparison tool.

The directory is algorithmic by design. Scores are calculated from structured data rather than editorial judgment calls, which means the same broker evaluated twice will produce the same result. The data is sourced from official regulator registers, broker fee schedules, and platform documentation, and is refreshed on a rolling basis.

Who it's for

BrokerDir is built for retail traders who want a factual, side-by-side view of their options, whether they trade forex, crypto, stocks, or multiple asset classes, and whether they are opening their first brokerage account or switching after an unsatisfactory experience. It is particularly useful for:

  • Traders who want to verify a broker's regulatory standing before depositing
  • Forex, crypto, and stock traders comparing spreads, commissions, and minimum deposit requirements across multiple brokers
  • Traders looking for brokers that are licensed and available in their country
  • Traders evaluating which trading platforms and instruments a broker supports
  • Anyone using the broker finder quiz or comparison tool to narrow down their options quickly

How the directory is built

Each broker profile is assembled from a structured data model covering regulatory licences, fee schedules, available platforms, country restrictions, and instrument ranges. That data feeds into a composite editorial score out of 5, calculated across four weighted categories: Trust & Regulation, Fees & Spreads, Platforms & Tools, and Customer Support.

For a full explanation of what each category measures and how the weighting works, see our Methodology page. For detail on where the underlying data comes from and how broker profiles are maintained, see How We Cover Brokers.

Editorial independence and referral disclosure

BrokerDir earns revenue through referral arrangements with some of the brokers listed on the site. These commercial relationships do not influence editorial scores or rankings. Scores are determined solely by the algorithmic scoring model applied consistently across all brokers. Where a referral relationship exists, it is disclosed on the relevant broker profile page.

BrokerDir does not accept payment to alter a broker's score, suppress negative findings, or change a broker's position in ranked listings. The ranking order on any listing page is determined entirely by the composite score.
