How Pepperstone ranks
Pepperstone's defining characteristic is speed. The broker connects to Equinix NY4 and LD4 data centres, co-locates with major liquidity providers, and publishes execution statistics that consistently show average fills below 30ms. The Razor account delivers EUR/USD spreads averaging 0.1-0.2 pips with a USD 7 round-turn commission, an all-in cost that is competitive with IC Markets and materially cheaper than any spread-only broker at equivalent volume.
Where Pepperstone stands out on platform breadth: it is one of the few brokers with MT4, MT5, cTrader, and TradingView natively on the same account. For traders who chart on TradingView but execute via MetaTrader, or who want cTrader's superior commission management, doing all of this without switching brokers is a practical advantage. IRESS is also available for share CFD trading.
Active traders and swing traders who want strong regulation, low Razor account cost, and maximum platform flexibility. Pepperstone is particularly popular among UK, European, and Australian traders who want ASIC and FCA dual regulation without sacrificing execution quality. There is no minimum deposit on the standard account.
It's less compelling for beginners: the educational content is adequate but not the strongest in the field, and the range of markets, while broad at 1,200+ instruments including ETF CFDs and bond CFDs (UK Gilts, German Bunds, US T-Bonds), doesn't approach IG's 19,000+.
FCA (684312), ASIC (414530), CySEC (388/20), BaFin, DFSA (F004356), and FMA New Zealand. Few brokers at this price point carry this depth of multi-jurisdictional regulation. UK clients get FSCS protection; Australian clients get ASIC segregation.
No proprietary platform beyond the MetaTrader environment and TradingView, which is fine for most traders but means you won't find the integrated research and screener tools that IG or CMC offer. US clients are not accepted.
Pepperstone is the strongest all-round broker for active retail traders outside the US who want EUR/USD all-in cost from 0.17 pips on the Razor account, sub-30ms average execution, and multi-platform flexibility under solid regulation. If you're comparing on EUR/USD all-in cost and execution quality, it sits at the top of the field alongside IC Markets.

Support took eleven days to respond to my ticket, which is ridiculous. I've been trying to withdraw some funds and got two failed attempts. This is not what I expected. I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you value timely help. Slippage on trades has also been really bad. Frustrating overall.
Tiered cash rebates from USD 1.50/lot at 100 lots/month up to USD 3.00/lot at 500+.
