Regulation

FP Markets is regulated by ASIC (286354) in Australia and CySEC (371/18) for EU clients. ASIC is one of the most stringent retail financial market regulators globally. Crypto CFD trades with FP Markets occur within a properly regulated framework with segregated client funds, a very different safety profile from operating on an unregulated or lightly regulated crypto exchange.

Costs

Crypto CFD spreads on FP Markets are variable, and typically range from 0.3-1% on BTC/USD during normal market hours. There is no commission on crypto CFDs, the spread is the full cost. Overnight financing applies to open positions held past the daily cut-off time.

Limitations

FP Markets offers only crypto CFDs, not real coin ownership. There is no staking, no on-chain withdrawal, and no DeFi access. The coin selection is narrower than dedicated crypto exchanges. The IRESS platform (available for share CFDs) does not include crypto.
